Serving as Prime Minister from 2017 to 2020 under Emmanuel Macron’s presidency, he had to manage three major crises: the Yellow Vests movement, the Covid-19 pandemic, and pension reform. During his time at Matignon, he began to see changes in his physical appearance due to a condition called vitiligo. On July 3, 2020, he ultimately resigned as Prime Minister, before announcing his candidacy for the 2027 presidential election.
